Public Notice: My Ride Opens Public Comment Period for Proposed Significant Service Changes

Beginning April 10, 2026, My Ride will launch a 30-day public comment period to gather feedback on proposed service changes to address ongoing operational and fleet challenges.

Limited access to necessary parts has impacted our ability to keep our buses in operation. The proposed service changes aim to provide a more flexible and accessible transportation model for riders.

The proposed change is to transition from My Ride’s fixed-route service to a demand response service provided by York County Access. Under this model, riders would schedule to be picked up and dropped off at locations of their choice for a small fare each way.

Additionally, the proposed change would eliminate the need for complementary paratransit service under the Federal Transit Administration requirements. Since York County Access provides equal access to local transportation, My Ride Direct paratransit service will be eliminated, with service provided by York County Access.

My Ride acknowledges the important role that fare-free fixed-route service has played in the community since its launch in 2019. However, these proposed changes are intended to provide a more accessible and sustainable service model moving forward.

Community members may participate in the public comment period to share their feedback on the proposed changes. Comments may be submitted by email to comments@myriderockhill.com, by phone at 803-329-RIDE (7433) option 9, or in person at public meetings held at Rock Hill City Hall, 155 Johnston Street, on April 15 at 9:30 AM during the regularly scheduled Traffic Commission meeting, or at 6 PM on April 20 in City Council Chambers.

The Public Comment Period will conclude on May 11, 2026.
